How do I register?

Registration is free. By Registering, you agree to the terms and conditions of our auctions as well as provide Great American Trading Post with valid contact information, including name, address, email address and telephone number. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email from Great American Trading Post and then have access to bid and view current bids on our items.

How do I update my contact information?

As part of the terms and conditions of sale, users are required to maintain contact information (e-mail address, mailing address, and phone number) up-to-date. Updates can be performed by the user by clicking on the ‘My Account’ tab on the menu bar, logging on, then clicking ‘View/Edit Your Personal Information’.

What kind of guarantee do you offer?

For the most part, all items are sold as is.  Please read the Terms and Conditions of the auctions for more details if you haven’t done so already.  We do guarantee that all property is free and clear of any liens.

What is a Buyer’s Premium?

Many companies like auctions, add a percentage to the final bid to offset costs which helps bring in high quality merchandise with no or little reserves.

How do I change or cancel a bid?

Once a bid is placed, it cannot be removed or canceled, unless there is a gross change in the description of the lot.  Buyers are required and recommended to research an item before placing a bid.

What is the difference between Auto Bid and Regular Bid?

A “Regular Bid” is a one time bid by the bidder in the exact amount. By using the “regular bid” you are letting everyone know that this is what you are willing to pay for the item.

An “Auto Bid”, which is more convenient, is when the bidder puts the maximum amount he or she is willing to pay. This does not mean that the computer will keep placing a bid for you beyond the maximum amount you are willing to pay. The bidder’s amount will only be increased if another user bids against that item. No one knows what your maximum amount is. When another user comes to bid, they will get a notice that he or she has been “outbidded” due to the autobid. The user’s amount with the autobid will have increased.

Who can bid?

Only registered users from 18 years can bid at Great American Trading Post. To do this, first logon with your unique user name and password.

How do I bid?

To bid in our auction you must first register.  Until the auction is opened, you can only view the items.  When the auction is opened, there will be a button for you to click on and bid.

What is Buy It Now?

Buy It Now is the opportunity where a user can immediately purchase the item when Buy it Now is offered. There are no additional fees. When you click on the Buy it Now button, you will be directed to the checkout page to immediately pay for your item. If you change your mind before payment, after 30 minutes, the item will be back up for auction. Buy it Now will be offered for various times during an auction.

Can I return my Buy It Now item?

Once a Buy It Now item has been purchased, it cannot be canceled or returned unless there is a gross misrepresentation of the item. If the description was incorrect, a 100% credit will be given.

Can I use Buy It Now when there is a current bidder on the item?

Yes! At any time when the Buy It Now option is available, you can choose to purchase that item. Please be aware that the Buy It Now option is not active for the entire auction.

What do I do after I win my bid?

Within 10 minutes of the auction closing, winning bidders can login to their account and click the “My Account” tab to view open invoices. Great American Trading Post will also send you a confirmation email stating that you have won. Payments are made securely from our site and are required to be received within 2 days of the close of the auction. We accept, Visa, MasterCard, Discover. You may also pay us directly. Paying by checks may delay shipping due to the invoice(s) will be not be cleared until the check has cleared. Winning Bidders with invoices totaling over $1,000 must contact customer support to process the payment. Once we have received your payment in full, most items will be shipped within 5 business days. Larger items may take longer. The shipping costs described in the item page includes, shipping and handling for each item. Great American Trading Post insures up to the total amount paid for an item.
